You will ride for 30 minutes or more and ages 6 and over are welcome. Children ages 6-9 are led alongside a wrangler and their horse. 10 and over are able to ride on their own if they feel comfortable doing so.
This is a great ride for beginner riders, and only three riders in a group. Other horseback riding options are available and include some extra horse time which includes grooming, some one on one instruction. This is available to riders 18 and older and is a great option for intermediate to advanced riders, and only two riders per session. The Date Ride for couples, as well as pony/leadline rides, private and group lessons are also available. Rides fill up fast, and reservations are needed to hold your ride time. Long pants and closed toes shoes are recommended.
Riverwood Ranch
Riverwood Ranch offers an unforgettable trail ride for small and large groups. All the guided trail rides are customized to fit each group's individual needs and experience levels. The trails take you through Pembina Valley and gorgeous fields and forests around the ranch. Riverwood has horses available to rent for the ride or unlike many other rides, you may trailer in your own horse. Riders ages 6-10 must be ponied by one of our experienced guides. At this time riders six and under are not able to ride on the trial with the group.
Riverwood offers other horse activities if you are interested in cattle drives, equine clinics, or riding lessons contact them for more information. Also it is recommended to call ahead and reserve ride times, as they are on a first come first serve basis.
Keno Hills Stable
Keno Hills offers guided trail rides and they have horses to accommodate riders of all ages and skill levels. Rides are guided by Keno Hills highly trained instructors. Depending on the group's skill level the guide will walk on foot or ride along on horseback. This is determined on the ability of the riders and what is going to be the safest option for the group. Riders 18 and under must wear a helmet and all riders must wear closed toed shoes, with a heel if possible and long pants.
