1. Can you share the story of how you began your equestrian journey and what inspired you to start riding?

My equestrian journey started when I was very young, the first picture I had on the horse with my father when I was 3-4 years old probably is a kind of proof of my love for animals and especially horses. But honestly even though I started riding around 6 years old to learn more about showjumping, my real journey as a professional athlete started very late. My father was a rider so he introduced me with horses but during my teenager time, I faced with a lot of difficulties about finding a suitable horse and trainer for my needs.

That made me a scared rider for a long time because I was enjoying riding but on the other hand was getting scared from the horses I needed to ride. But then I was selected for national dressage team and started jumping as well in several championships, this made me a competitive rider and also I started enjoying more the sport and being scared less.

My serious come back as a professional happened after I met with my husband who was also my trainer. Since then I am enjoying every moment on the saddle.

2. What has been the most challenging aspect of your riding career so far, and how did you overcome it?

I experienced one of the most challenging moments of my life during a training session in Kuwait. My horse and I had an unfortunate fall—he lost his balance when he was scared from something and reared up then fell on me. The impact was severe, and I ended up with a broken pelvis in six places, several fractured ribs, and the need for urgent surgery. I spent months in bed, hospital and wheelchair, with doctors warning me about the long recovery ahead.

But for me, giving up was never an option. As a rider, you learn that falling is part of the journey—it’s about how you get back up. I focused on every step of my recovery, channeling my energy into becoming stronger, mentally and physically. I told myself, ‘This isn’t the end of the story; it’s the beginning of a comeback.’

When I returned to riding same year, it wasn’t easy. I had to face the fear of falling again, but I approached it one ride at a time, rebuilding my confidence. The following season, I came back stronger and placed in all the showjumping competitions I entered with a horse named Alphonso. That experience taught me resilience and the importance of perseverance.

I truly believe that setbacks are just setups for comebacks. No matter how hard life knocks you down, you always have the strength within to rise and achieve even greater heights.

3. Who or what has been the biggest influence on your equestrian journey?

My biggest inspiration is always the horse itself. Horses have always inspired me deeply; they are majestic, powerful creatures that embody both strength and grace. Despite their size and raw energy, they possess a gentle and friendly nature, forming incredible bonds with humans through trust and respect. What fascinates me most is their work ethic—whether in the arena or the wild, horses are resilient, hardworking, and incredibly intuitive. They teach us the value of perseverance, patience, and partnership. Riding isn’t just about mastering a sport; it’s about connecting with a being that mirrors your energy and emotions, reminding you to stay grounded yet strive for greatness. Horses truly are living symbols of balance and harmony. And I think that's what life is about.

4. Can you tell us about your favorite horse and what makes your bond with them special?

Definitely i have several favourite horses as they all thought me something different and inspired me on their own way but my first pony was an angel, my first horse that we did showjumping competitions at 130cm height when i was young as that time I was scared from the heights, one mare in Kuwait extremely special and hot and a horse in Qatar which wasn't belong to me but we won together dressage championships and a full season are the ones I can mention directly.

With these horses i had a team spirit and they knew me so well that the moment i couldn't decide the best for myself, they were deciding and this touched my heart many times deeply. It's this unique feeling to become emotionally one with a horse and share the good and difficult together like best friends. These horses changed my horse riding life and career in one way or another.

But I respected and loved every horse I rode all this time and at the end of the day, they all touched my heart in different ways.

5. What does a typical day in your life as an equestrian look like?

From mid 2024, I have been focusing on gender equality topic in my life that's why my rider and trainer career has a little pause but until now, my typical day had been starting early in the morning in the stables. I was riding 6-7 horses daily in Qatar which were belonging to different people and they were all competing on different levels and disciplines. I was training with showjumping horses first and taking it easy with the horse I was competing in dressage. Then in the afternoon I had my classes with junior riders as I became a FEI Level 2 showjumping trainer 2 years ago.

I like riding in the mornings so I prefer riding around 7 am and finish riding earlier as Middle Eastern countries like Qatar and Kuwait gets hotter and I never liked forcing the horses so much in heat or also with a lot of Air-conditioner. My days were about full time dedication in the stables and divided between riding myself or teaching and training young riders.

6. How do you balance the demands of training, competitions, professional and personal time?

Balancing training, competitions, professional commitments, and personal life requires careful planning, discipline, and a strong support system. I prioritize my time by setting clear goals for each area of my life and sticking to a structured routine. For example, I dedicate specific hours to riding and training, ensuring the horses and I are in peak condition, while also carving out time for my professional responsibilities or training depends on my job.

I’ve learned to be fully present in whatever I’m doing—whether it’s preparing for a competition or spending quality time with family. Communication is key, especially with my husband, who understands the demands of my career and passions since we both share a love for equestrian sports.
Ultimately, it’s about recognizing that life is a balance of dedication and flexibility. Some days lean more heavily into one aspect than another, but by focusing on my priorities and remembering why I’m passionate about what I do, I’ve managed to create a fulfilling life where each part supports the other.

7. How has living in Doha shaped your equestrian career and training approach?

Doha gave me the best and worst at the same time that's why it's a place I learned a lot of things. But as a horse rider and trainer, I have enjoyed my time there also I had the chance to be a part of world class events and impressive facilities. I gained a lot of experience by riding different horses, in different disciplines and also some young horses as well.

Being part of events like Longines Global, Hathab Tour etc and meeting with a lot of experienced world class riders are always inspiring when this becomes your full time job. But I will definitely keep my silence for the equestrian community as my experience brought me to a different road after spending 4 years working as a trainer and also a rider.

9. What excites you the most about the Doha Tour 2025?

I was a part of 2024 as one of the horses I was riding was competing on the amazing show but this year in 2025, I am a spectator for the tour. Even though I don't compete myself, I still enjoy seeing the competitions and development of the tour as well as welcoming new faces and meeting with new world class riders. I also like supporting my husband as his riders are also competing on these amazing shows.

10. How does the Doha Tour 2025 stand out from other events you’ve participated in?

I participated some very enjoyable events in Kuwait, Qatar, France and also In Türkiye. But Doha Tour is extremely special because Longines Al Shaqab Arena is one of a kind place. Also it welcomes so many riders and horses around the world. I have never been a part of an event which was welcoming this number of horses especially from all around the world. That's why it's spectacular and it's more like an entertainment event more than a sports competition only.
